The LSSU preschool program works collaboratively with families and community partners to promote optimal social, emotional and cognitive learning experiences within nurturing environments. We are committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for our communities’ children.

Programs are available in Stowe at the Elementary School and in Morrisville at the Graded Building. Classes are scheduled Monday - Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. After school care is available through Apple Tree Learning Center.

Act 166 - Vermont’s Universal Prekindergarten (Act 166), allows children who are 3, 4, or 5 years old by September 1 to attend a prequalified prekindergarten program of their family’s choosing for 10 hours per week.  Funding is provided for 35 weeks per year. If your child turns 6 years old mid-year funding will stop on their 6th birthday. Approved centers include Wee Explorers, Puffer Child Care Center, Clubhouse Kids, Appletree Learning Centers, and Lamoille County Early Education Center.

How do I enroll my child in Act 166?  You must first complete the registration process with your school district, even if you are attending an approved private program. Both the Student Information Verification Form and Act 166 Tuition Request Form should be completed and returned to Lamoille South.

For additional information regarding our programs, Act 166, or to enroll your child, please reach out to Regina Shinners by phone at 802-888-4541 or by email at regina.shinners@lamoillesouth.org.
